Gum Disease Treatment in KR Puram
Bleeding gums are the first sign of gum disease. At that stage a proper cleaning fixes it. Left alone, it leads to bone loss and loose teeth. We treat every stage, from deep cleaning to surgery.

What happens, step by step
We explain each step before we do it.
- 01
Pocket measurement
We measure the gap between gum and tooth around each tooth, and take an x-ray to check the bone.
- 02
Deep cleaning
Cleaning below the gum line under local anaesthesia, usually one half of the mouth per visit.
- 03
Review
Six weeks later we measure again. Most gums have tightened up by then.
- 04
Surgery, if needed
Where the gaps are still deep, the gum is lifted to clean the root fully, then stitched back.
Before you book
- Bleeding when you brush is the earliest sign of gum disease.
- Smoking is the biggest reason gum disease gets worse.
- Gum disease can be controlled but not cured. A cleaning every three to four months keeps it stable.
Will my receded gums grow back?
Lost gum does not grow back on its own. Treatment stops further loss. Grafting can rebuild some areas, and we discuss that case by case.
Is deep cleaning painful?
It is done under local anaesthesia. The gums can be sore for a couple of days after.
